I had the great pleasure of being featured on author Gabi Coatsworth’s official website as part of her series on authors and where they write. My writing space is really precious to me, and I appreciate having the chance to share it with you. If you want to see it and find out more about the place where I wrote Smile, The Dome, Feasting Upon The Bones, and The Seventh Devil, you can read about it here: Where I Write

That’s what I call handy. I love your special space, just as much as I loved your book. Yes, you’ll be happy to know I read it in one breath and I can tell you one thing – THIS is precisely what I needed right now.
I’m sure you’ll write many many books in that artistic corner of yours.

Oh, I’m so happy you liked it! I’m already working on the sequel–9 stories in:-)

Yay. It’s awesome how we got inspired by the same/similar stuff in a completely different way. And I found it spooky when I read the He didn’t tell them repetition bs a story from my collection ends in a protagonist repeating I don’t tell him…

I’m glad you like that piece–I remember submitting it to some mag a couple of years ago and having them say the character wasn’t that interesting. I was like What? To me, characters like that are the MOST interesting!

My piece was once turned down bs of the repetition, which I still consider one of the most powerful literary devices.
The good thing, though, is everything eventually finds its audience, regardless of what some editors think.

This is sooooo nice! I’m thinking I need to create a space like that at my house. Something I can use to inspire and be creative. I have the Feasting On the Bones…..I too read it in one sitting!

It’s such a cosy space–I’m eternally grateful to Ken for the build! I hope you liked Feasting–did you guess who I had you in mind for?

We all need a room of our own, as Virginia Woolf said, and you have such an amazing one. Something I never realized before now, though, is that it’s not just the space itself but how it’s decorated. You’ve made it your own space with things that are special to you which makes it funny to me that you write dark and twisted tales there. But then it’s a safe space and that’s what allows you to ponder dangerous idea.

It was exactly that contradiction that intrigued me…

Yes, it’s ironic but true. I’m so comfortable there that I can let my mind go to uncomfortable spaces😊

What a beautiful space and a wonderful spouse! I really enjoyed your story about it, as well. Maybe when I move, I can create a writing/reading area.

What happened to “have laptop, can write”?
During the zompocalypse will you still be able to seclude yourself in your comfy niche and pen your tales?

Up in a tree where the zombies can’t reach me. Zombies can’t climb right? Oh wait…

They don’t need to climb trees, they just build piles of their dead beneath you and corpse-crawl.

Ah, the corpse pile strategy. Clever for a zombie:-)

Awesome word slinging spot. My writing spot has six wheels and takes me all over the place. It’s my RV, I live in it. I also get to sit outside in some wonderful spots and write!

I love how every writer has their own unique space and style. I like to write in my living room in my recliner with the tv playing in the background for noise. In the winter, we always have a fire going, too. 🙂

Yes, I have a fireplace just adjacent to the room–I love sitting by the fire!
