I’m really excited to have this short story in the beautiful Moria Literary Magazine, which is the National Literary Magazine of Woodbury University . It’s a quirky little piece called “Collateral Damage” and it’s about revenge gone wrong. Or has it…?
If you’d like to, you can read it here.
Also, thank you so much to everyone who went to Spillwords and voted for me for Publication of the Month. You’re the best!
Lenora….😳

I’m always attracted to unusual names….and stories. Way to go, Suzanne.

Thanks. I spend a lot of time choosing the right names for people and try to put some meaning behind them, so I’m happy you noticed!

I know the feeling.
We would spend hours in literature classes discussing the choice of names. We learn from the best.

…. and then? Does Leonora divorce Roman and marry Solomon. Don’t leave us in suspenders, Suzanne. 🙂 Great read; I always love a but of deviousness.

It doesn’t say where she’s planting those roses—who can say?😉

Loved it, Suzunne 🙂 It is so well penned! You really gave life to all three characters even if the story is short, I’d sure like to read more about them 🙂 🙂 🙂 xx

Leonora is the definite one with common sense here. Her husband on the other hand seems to me, blames everyone for his shortcomings….I love rosebushes, but sadly I can’t keep them alive either, lol.

Fantastic story. I’m also glad I read it before reading the comments. Funny thing, too, is I imagine there’s more to the story, perhaps with Lenora planting a new breed of roses she calls “Solomon”, named for their fertilizer…

I hope she’s happy in town, although I suspect she definitely will be!

Great Story! Boy that’s a sad one for me. “Lesson’s learned” are hard ones. So much of life’s interactions and people reactions are failures of communication.
